Software Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:
We're looking for a self-motivated, creative Senior software developer eager to build innovative solutions with high autonomy and minimal oversight. You'll have the flexibility to explore ideas, experiment with security technologies, and bring your vision to life-while automating and solving real-world problems with a team of like-minded individuals. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys working at the intersection of automation and engineering, architecture, and creative exploration.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Java, Python, GoLang, C#, or C++
  • 5+ years of experience with software architecture and modular design principles
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and using RESTful APIs
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining distributed, scalable, and secure systems
  • Knowledge of efficient data structures, memory management, and performance optimization
  • Knowledge of distributed systems concepts such as gRPC, scalability, message queues, or microservices
  • Ability to work on developing connectors with tools to enable end-to-end automation of security operations procedures effectively
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with cybersecurity in network security, infrastructure security, applications or systems security, automating security operations, SIEM, incident response, or threat intelligence
  • Experience with offensive or defensive cybersecurity tools or operations
  • Experience with containerization, such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience with leveraging modern DevOps practices and CI/CD
  • Experience with log management platforms, including Splunk or ELK Stack
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies, such as VMware, QEMU, or KVM
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred; Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, or a related field a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
