Job DescriptionThe Senior HR Trainer designs, delivers, and continuously improves professional learning experiences across Texas State Technical College (TSTC). This role supports employee, faculty, and leadership development while ensuring training related to HR systems, workplace practices, safety expectations, and compliance requirements is clear, consistent, and effective.Operating as a senior individual contributor, the Senior HR Trainer leads complex training initiatives and partners with subject matter experts to develop accurate, engaging, and audit-ready learning content delivered through in-person, virtual, hybrid, and asynchronous formats. Through strong instructional design, facilitation excellence, and disciplined program execution, the role strengthens leadership capability, faculty readiness, and workforce confidence across TSTC's multi-campus environment. The mid-point salary for this position is $73-74k plus full state benefits. Salary will be determined upon background and experience. Staff, Faculty, and Leadership Professional Development HR Systems, Safety, and Compliance Training Program Execution and Continuous Improvement Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration Mentorship and Capability Development Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in training, learning and development, faculty development, or a closely related discipline. Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating professional learning experiences for leaders, faculty, and professional staff. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical learning experiences. Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities and stakeholder relationships. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education, the public sector, or a large distributed organization. Experience using learning management systems such as Canvas or Workday Learning and modern content creation tools such as Articulate Rise. Familiarity with learning and development frameworks, leadership development models, and organizational effectiveness practices. Professional certifications in learning and development (ATD, CPTD, APTD) or human resources (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP). Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to design, facilitate, and continuously improve professional learning experiences using adult learning principles and modern facilitation techniques. Ability to translate complex policies, technical concepts, and institutional processes into clear, practical training content that supports employee understanding and application. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously. Ability to analyze feedback, participation data, and learning outcomes to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen program effectiveness. Proficiency with learning management systems, collaboration tools, and presentation platforms used for in-person and virtual training environments. Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and initiative while representing HR learning initiatives across the institution.
