Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time GIS Technician in support of a large-scale Telecommunications project.

As a GIS Technician II, you are responsible for ensuring the data follows standards and helping with quality control of data across all data products. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

• Manage difficult client situations, responding promptly to clients' needs for service and assistance, soliciting feedback to improve service, and meeting commitments
• Set and achieve challenging goals by demonstrating persistence and overcoming obstacles; measure oneself against the standard of excellence, and take calculated risks to accomplish goals
• Follow policies and procedures by completing administrative tasks correctly and on time; support the organization's goals and values, and benefit it through outside activities
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment
• Prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently; set goals and objectives, organize or schedule other people and their tasks, and develop realistic action plans
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, by gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternative solutions, while working well in group problem-solving situations; use reason even when dealing with difficult situations
• Develop strategies to achieve organizational goals by understanding the organization's strengths and weaknesses; analyzing the market and competition, identifying external opportunities, and adapting strategy to rapidly changing conditions

About You:

• You have a bachelor's in GIS, Geography, or a related field
• You have a strong fundamental understanding of GIS principles
• You want to make an impact with your local community and enjoy being home daily
• You possess strong editing knowledge
• Experienced with 3GIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Collector, or QGIS is required
• You are a strong problem solver
• You are a self-starter
• You are a fast learner
• On-site, at the customer site, each day

Compensation of $25-$26 per hour.
