The VP, Director of Commercial Banking Strategy and Product Development is a senior, cross-functional leader responsible for shaping, prioritizing, and delivering the digital and operational capabilities that power the Bank's commercial lending, and business banking ecosystems. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, technology, operations, risk, and customer experience, ensuring that the commercial lending product portfolio delivers measurable value to clients and internal stakeholders including relationship managers (RM), credit, underwriting, and operations. This role will collaborate with executive leadership to coordinate efforts and drive enhancements to commercial lending products throughout the product life cycle.

The VP, Director of Commercial Banking Strategy and Product Development provides strategic vision, governance, and execution leadership, enabling the bank to modernize platforms, improve operational efficiency, enhance RM workflows, and deliver competitive, compliant, and scalable commercial banking solutions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

* 10+ years of experience in commercial banking, product management, commercial lending operations, or digital transformation in a financial institution
* College degree required; will consider commensurate experience
* 10+ years of experience overseeing or operating
o Commercial lending lifecycle (origination underwriting closing booking servicing renewals)
o Business customer digital expectations
o Operational risk and compliance requirements
* Strong experience with one or more major systems:
o Loan origination platforms
o Loan servicing platforms
o Third-party commercial support vendors
o Loan documentation vendors
* Working knowledge of Agile and Change Management practices a plus

Essential Functions:

* Product Strategy and Vision
o Develop and maintain a roadmap for commercial banking digital capabilities (loan origination, servicing platforms, CRM tools, client portals, etc.) that translates business goals with clarity and traceability
o Research and identify product opportunities that improve RM productivity, loan cycle times, customer experience, and digital adoption
o Monitor customer behaviors, market trends, and data insights to drive the continuous improvement of the commercial lending portfolio
o Prioritize features using business impact, compliance deadlines, operational efficiency, revenue potential, and customer value
o Facilitate requirement grooming with cross-functional teams (credit, operations, risk, IT, sales leadership)
o Routinely present to executive leadership and garner buy-in for product enhancements or innovations, process improvements, workflow changes, and technological advancements
* Delivery Leadership & Relationship Management
o Serve as the primary liaison between commercial lenders, administration, operations, enterprise risk, information technology, and external vendors to manage competing priorities and balance risk, regulatory pressure, and business needs
o Lead cross functional teams and serve as the subject matter expert through end-to-end product development, implementation, and adoption
o Communicate product decisions in a transparent, data-driven way to secure buy-in and adoption
o Coordinate with operations and training teams to ensure smooth activation of new features or workflows
* Business Process Optimization
o Regularly assess current-state commercial banking processes to identify gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies using data and stakeholder interviews
o Define target-state workflows and collaborate with operations to redesign processes that reduce cycle time, improve accuracy, and enable scalability
o Regularly assess platform capabilities and limitations and make recommendations for enhancements or replacements
* Data, Reporting & Analytics
o Define KPIs and metrics to ensure product solutions support measurable business outcomes including streamlined approvals, reduced manual work, stronger controls, integrated onboarding etc.
o Ensure systems support accurate data capture for credit, compliance, and finance
o Use insights to reprioritize roadmap items and identify new features/improvements
* Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
o Understand regulatory requirements for commercial banking: BSA/AML, KYC, OFAC, Fair Lending, CRA, commercial credit standards, vendor risk, etc.
o Ensure product solutions embed appropriate controls and align with audit findings or regulatory guidance
o May act as product liaison during examinations, internal audits, and model validations
o Coordinate with compliance and risk teams to implement policy changes
o All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank's risk management program.
