Are you looking for a Seasonal Opportunity at Aqua PA, a subsidiary of Essential Utilities? We are currently hiring for a seasonal full-time help available from May through August.

In this role, the primary responsibilities are assisting the Treatment and Operations team with field-based project startups and water quality troubleshooting. Additional responsibilities may also include office-based filing, data collection/input, and sample management. This position may be asked to interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist the Operations team with station startups, or project troubleshooting
  • Assist the Operations team with filter media replacements or water quality issues.
  • Sampling various water treatment and distribution sites for analytes such as volatile organic compounds, coliform bacteria, total organic content, and phosphate.
  • Testing for various parameters such as chlorine residual and ph.
  • Working with other departments to implement new technology or treatment processes and improving operational efficiencies.
  • Assisting staff and managers with project implementation and those associated work tasks.
  • Pick up and drop off material, samples, bottles, etc. as needed.
  • Data collection and entry for monthly/quarterly compliance reports and organization of data collected at our remote well stations to ensure compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection regulations.
  • You may help update SOPs and may also spend some time in the company laboratory.
  • Data analysis, data pulls, documentation organization from SCADA, LIMS, or WIMS software.
  • Adheres to all safety and security operating policies, procedures, practices, and standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • You will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a company that impacts public health of customers it serves by providing earth's most essential resource.
  • Pay Rate $16.00

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid driver's license

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with computers and work systems such as Microsoft office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; communicate effectively (clearly, concisely, and professionally) with customers and internal staff.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedules
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time, weather permitting
  • Must always follow directions and implement safety procedures
  • A team player able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards, fumes, dusts, and mists
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Working conditions include travel to work sites of Essential Utilities and/or other constituents.
