| Essential Job Duties |
The primary purpose of this position is to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on the campus building envelope to ensure the integrity and longevity of facilities. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing roofing systems such as single-ply, built-up roofing (
BUR), modified bitumen, metal, slate, and shingle roofs, as well as gutters and downspouts. The role also requires knowledge of above- and below-grade waterproofing systems, including control joints, window resealing, and repairing or replacing waterproofing membranes using appropriate materials and techniques. In addition, the position may perform general carpentry tasks as needed to support building envelope maintenance and repair. |

| Minimum Experience/Education |
- High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

- Strong attention to detail when inspecting, repairing, and maintaining roofing and building envelope systems.
- Knowledge of multiple roofing systems including single-ply, built-up roofing (BUR), modified bitumen, metal, slate, and shingle roofing.
- Ability to perform sealing, waterproofing, and repair work in accordance with plans, specifications, and established procedures.
- Experience with above- and below-grade waterproofing systems, including control joints, window resealing, and waterproofing membrane repair or replacement.
- Ability to accurately measure, calibrate, and apply materials to ensure proper installation and repair.
- Skill in following both standard and non-standard procedures to complete repairs effectively and safely.
- Ability to complete assigned maintenance and repair tasks in a timely and efficient manner..

- Familiarity with procedures, methods, and materials used for the safe assembly, demolition, and excavation related to roofing and building envelope work.
- Knowledge of proper techniques for handling and disposing of construction and roofing waste materials in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
- Understanding of safe work practices and site preparation related to maintenance and repair projects.
