Clinical Nurse II- Duke Children's at Creekstone

Job Summary:

We are seeking aClinical Nurse IIin ourDuke Children's Specialty Creekstoneclinic located inDurham, NCto be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Provide nursing triage, assessment, and patient education through telephone encounters and secure messaging, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to patient needs.




  • Plan, deliver, and document evidence-based nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with provider orders and established Nephrology policies and procedures under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and assigned providers. Responsibilities include medication management, prior authorizations, care coordination, patient scheduling, and ongoing clinical support.




  • Coordinate the Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) program, including collaborating with providers to identify appropriate patients, scheduling appointments, providing patient education, configuring monitoring devices, downloading and preparing study data for provider interpretation, tracking device inventory, and ordering supplies associated with device distribution and shipping.




  • Provide cross-coverage and support for team members as needed to ensure continuity of patient care and clinic operations.




  • Participate in department and entity-level performance improvement initiatives, work culture activities, continuing education opportunities, staff meetings, and other organizational initiatives that support quality patient care and operational excellence.




  • Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information and other clinical information as indicated based on clinic staffing needs.




  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.





Job Eligibility Requirements:



  • Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
  • All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.
  • Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
  • Twelve months of pediatric experience is required.
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
