SEI is seeking a Technology Manager to manage development of multiple personas for SEI IMS Scope. This includes working with, but not limited to, business operations, technical operations, infrastructure, and development teams. Tasks include leading large-scale development projects, problem determination, upgrades, as well as providing detailed technical support through research, analysis and resolution of issues.

The individual needs to be able to work in a fast paced and rapid deployment environment.

What you will do:

  • Manage the full SLDC process for several financial software products
  • Lead/guide members of several development teams to accomplish assigned projects and tasks
  • Lead teams to design robust, scalable, and fault-tolerant solutions, ensuring systems meet performance and security standards.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Drive innovation in the use of emerging technologies.
  • Continuously review current software solutions for improvements in tech stack, for mitigating any risks and vulnerabilities, reducing redundancies, and promoting standardization
  • Provide expertise on core applications and/or application databases, including leading efforts for 3rd level support on critical production issues
  • Participate in release and implementation projects
  • Promote Agile methodologies and DevOps principles
  • Take ownership of your products - Understand the underlying technology and business use cases for your system
  • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and technical Business Owners to help assure strategy and execution alignment, including the development of a product roadmap
  • Think beyond day-to-day activities; you're responsible for providing strategic direction to the team
  • Address escalations from your managers to make sure the team continues to move forward without roadblocks
  • Serve as coach, advisor and career counselor to direct reports
  • Evaluate performance and provide input, guidance, and corrective actions as necessary
  • Identify next leaders and rising stars; challenge them and help them grow

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working in technology, with prior experience running development projects from design through implementation.
  • Knowledge of Agile processes and Atlassian products
  • Experience working with development resources to coordinate releases in a fast paced environment
  • Technical experience with Linux/Unix/Solaris/AIX; shell programming/PERL; Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle; ER/Studio and Toad; MVC Frameworks such as Struts and Spring; Developing Web Applications with .Net, Java Script, HTML, JSPs, Angular; Developing Web APIs using .Net Core, Database access methods and simple SQL constructs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying automation opportunities and implementing solutions that optimize routine business workflows.
  • Drive automation in day-to-day Dev and QA activities to gain efficiency and maintain company standards.
  • Development management and IT architecture design/implementation experience, including deriving estimates and dates for work items, technical design against complex requirements in financial services, resolving team priority issues between development and production support, and ensuring the ultimate delivery of software
  • Knowledge of how to architect and manage an eco-system that supports a growing analytics practice, including data lake and pipeline technologies
  • Ability to coach and mentor team resources on best practices for software development
  • Successful leadership of projects while keeping them on schedule; projects of interest include adding new features to applications and system upgrades
  • Thorough knowledge of data processing concepts and financial industry/banking operations practices, such as processing data from accounting engines to a data warehouse
