As a Stuctures Superintendent - Night Shift, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our construction projects. Your expertise in scheduling, coordinating, and supervising production and workforce will ensure that every task is executed seamlessly and efficiently.

Join our landmark infrastructure project that is expanding one of the East Coast's most iconic and vital transportation corridors, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. This 17.6 mile bridge tunnel complex, recognized as an engineering marvel of the modern world, is undergoing a major design build expansion with the construction of the Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel to enhance capacity, safety, and reliability for travelers between Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore.

The new bored tunnel (a first of its kind in the Mid Atlantic) will carry southbound traffic while the existing tunnel will carry northbound traffic, significantly improving traffic flow and operational redundancy. This project offers an exceptional opportunity to work on challenging marine construction, deep foundation, and tunnel structures that will have a lasting impact on regional mobility and commerce.

What you will be doing

    Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs and work schedule for assigned project work. Reviews daily work schedule with direct reports and updates weekly schedule from project feedback.
  • Review and understands the project specifications to support job set up activities. Works with work crews, field engineers and local utility companies to identify hazardous areas on job site.
  • Coordinate with internal equipment team and external vendors to ensure that project work is equipped with appropriate equipment and material quantities to complete production within assigned budget and schedule.
  • Forecast the work schedule to identify possible issues and provides technical or scheduling recommendations to mitigate production issues.
  • Provide technical input to identify and resolve project risks including construction methods, work plan and material requirements, safety and schedule activities. Documents daily activities and meeting notes using Company approved document methods.
  • Support and promotes strict adherence to safety and process controls regarding operating equipment, worksite safety and documentation requirements. Responsibility includes recommending training needs identified on jobsite.
  • Supervise sub-contractor production and workforce regarding assigned project work. Recommends work schedule or work method adjustments regarding sub-contractor activities.


What we are looking for

  • 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience required.
  • 5+ years construction management experience required.
  • Concrete and structures experience
  • Ability to work night shift
  • Bachelor's Degree a plus.
  • Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site safety protocols and proven ability to enforce project safety programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules, if applicable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract specific plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
