Experience integrating Android media apps into IVI systems and working directly with OEM engineering is key.

What you'll do:

  • Optimize audio/media playback for satellite and streaming, focusing on performance, robustness, and UX polish in IVI contexts.

  • Contribute to Android app/system code in Kotlin/Java and C++; collaborate on interfaces across HAL/IPC where needed.

  • Maintain crisp technical docs, OEM status, and release notes; lead OEM bench/vehicle bring-up and validation as needed.

  • Serve as Software Coordinator for assigned OEMs: integration guidance, cross-team issue management, and technical relationship.

What you'll need:

  • 7+ years (flexible for seniority) in Android/AAOS development or integration for IVI; strong Kotlin/Java and solid C++.

  • Proven experience integrating Android media apps with automotive IVI and collaborating directly with OEM/Tier-1 teams (e.g., GM, Stellantis, Ford).

  • Hands-on debugging with ADB/logcat/dumpsys/systrace, crash/perf analysis, and end-to-end triage across app/framework.

  • Media/audio domain knowledge (playback, buffering, lifecycle, focus, routes) and shipped features in SiriusXM/streaming media contexts.

  • Excellent cross-functional coordination and written status / reporting for external partners. Android RRO/theming, SELinux hardening, Binder deep-dive, and automotive protocols
    (SOME/IP, CAN, MOST, A2B, AVB).

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Android Audio HAL, OpenSL ES, and media frameworks.

    • Knowledge of Satellite Radio (e.g., SiriusXM) and automotive infotainment systems.

    • Familiarity with Yocto, QNX, or other automotive Linux distributions.

    • Prior experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.

    • Understanding of OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, security patches, and compliance standards.

    • QNX/Qt or Yocto exposure; OTA and compliance flows. (Candidate brings QNX/Qt experience.)

    • Rust experience.

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
