The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra - You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a Senior Technical Specialist.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Specialist to join our Test Lab team. In this role, you will apply deep technical knowledge of instrumentation, data acquisition, and analysis to deliver accurate, actionable test data that supports the development of motorcycle systems and components. You will collaborate closely with engineers, technical specialists, mechanics, and riders/operators to optimize test efficiency and ensure high-quality results.
This position requires a hands-on problem solver who is comfortable developing test methods, configuring instrumentation, and identifying the right tools to capture meaningful data. You will also contribute to continuous improvement throughout the lab, from workflow optimization to test capability enhancement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Investigate, implement, and execute new equipment and test techniques within the assigned Test Lab.
  • Apply continuous improvement tools to enhance test effectiveness and increase lab throughput.
  • Lead the calibration of instrumentation, test systems, and test cells.
  • Configure data acquisition systems and perform precise measurements.
  • Explain measurement concepts and testing methodologies to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Coordinate internal and external technical resources to support testing activities.
  • Acquire data using standard and innovative test methods; deliver clear, actionable results.
  • Develop new test methods or fabricate custom sensors and fixturing when necessary.
  • Implement processes that increase throughput and reduce development time.
  • Actively partner with senior engineering staff to set and achieve personal and technical growth goals.
  • Stay current with evolving technologies, tools, and methodologies through ongoing professional development.

Education Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Education Specifications

  • Associate degree in Electronic or Mechanical Technology (or related discipline), or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on technical work.
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical skills related to motorcycles or other vehicles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with a variety of laboratory software tools and platforms.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
