We are seeking Senior Software Developers to contribute to the development of the company's industry-leading Switch Order Management system (SOM). In this role, you will be a member of an Agile development team that designs and implements an expanding and performant switch order management platform with best-in-class front end user experience. This role's contributions will make a highly visible impact on software that has a direct impact on daily users, as well as utility customers whose reliability of service depends on these applications.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have an advanced understanding of software development techniques while possessing passion to learn and excel your expertise to the next level. You will also need to have self-motivation and management to plan and execute complex development projects to successful completion. Your Impact
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain all areas within SOM to support a growing, global customer base.
  • Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement best-in-class software.
  • Design and implement reliable, performant complex features based on requirements and/or user stories on both front-end and back-end development.
  • Lead design on projects that could impact the application architecture.
  • Ensure design and implementation best practices are followed, including design reviews, code review, automated and manual testing, etc.
  • Facilitate the growth and development of other Developers through coaching and mentoring on the technologies and processes used within the team.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Developers to develop detailed product requirements and specifications.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years' experience with object-oriented programming (Java, C/C++, C#, etc.)
  • Proficient in web-based programming languages, including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Test-driven development experience. Must be able to unit test code.
  • Proficient in database interaction, with experience in MongoDB, Oracle DB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SQLite preferred.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX development in desktop applications.
  • A passion for learning and working on complex problems.
  • Ability to work independently, effectively manage time, and prioritize strategically.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and at different levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to feedback and changing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Java, MongoDB, Angular and RESTful interfaces
  • Experienced with GIT for source-code management.
  • Advanced user of GitHub.
  • Familiar with static code analysis tools, including GitHub Advanced Security and CodeQL.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering or Power Systems principles and concepts

The salary range for this role is $109,600.00 - $137,000.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
