Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing and facility equipment, including CNC machinery and electrical systems. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with CNC equipment and PLC systems, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing and assembly equipment, including CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machinery
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving spindles, tooling, lubrication systems, and mechanical assemblies
Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems and CNC control platforms (e.g., Mitsubishi, FANUC, Haas)
Perform control calibration, servo tuning, and parameter adjustments
Maintain electrical equipment in compliance with county, state, and federal regulatory codes
Troubleshoot and repair electrical distribution systems including electric motors, controls, fire alarms, programmable lighting controls, and clock systems
Read and interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot servos, amplifiers, controls, and drive systems
Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements
Perform installation, maintenance, and repair work from ladders, scaffolds, and rooftops as needed
Safely operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks
Manage and maintain preventative maintenance activities using a cloud-based maintenance system
Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards
Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Perform other related duties as assigned
Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends when required
Position Requirements
Strong knowledge of CNC maintenance and troubleshooting, including Mazak and Mori Seiki machines
Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and other computer-based control systems
Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC-based equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, electrical schematics, and technical sketches
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and maintain strong working relationships with team members
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with multi-axis CNC machines, mills, and lathes
Advanced PLC troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of air compressors and pressure vessels
Experience managing preventative maintenance databases
Proficiency testing electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
Experience with rigging operations and overhead crane safety procedures
Ability to safely operate forklifts and high lifts
Experience assisting with repair specifications and new construction documentation
