What's new with Aptar
We have an exciting position open: Quality Inspector II, this position will report to the Quality Manager. This position will be based in Eatontown and is responsible for performing incoming inspection on various manufactured components assemblies and finished products in accordance with established Quality Inspection Plans. Document results and determine final disposition of materials and products, as well as some direct contact with our suppliers.
This is how your journey begins
- You will perform inspection on received components following Quality Inspection Plan and determine acceptance. This may include but is not limited to performing incoming inspections on components manufactured by a supplier, components coming from the molding department going to assembly and may involve collecting data to accept or reject those components.
- Support the Supplier Quality efforts pertaining to supplier performance, corrective actions and "return to vendor" activities.
- You will communicate and coordinate all quality-related issues to key stakeholders, which may include (but is not limited to QA and Mfg. Supervision and related personnel on supplied components).
- You will coordinate proper containment activities for potentially non-conforming material.
- You will quarantine and clearly mark all defective products and issue Quality Notifications as instructed.
- You will place potentially non-conforming material on Quality Hold and remove material from Quality Hold.
- You will execute actions within the Document Control process (including but not limited to document creation, review and facilitate approval of, training and update controlled copy locations)
- You will work unsupervised and independently as assigned.
- You will perform additional testing and other duties as requested, including accurate documentation.
- You should have the ability to understand and utilize SAP.
- You will support internal metrology activities
- You will coordinate calibration of all gages -in house/ vendor.
- You will maintain and update master color board library.
- You will first piece inspection of new vendors/components.
- You will perform Inspection of warehouse purges/vendor returns and reworks.
- You will need to train and onboard Quality Inspectors Level I.
- You must be able to independently identify process improvements and best practices.
- You must be able to be a subject matter expert (SME) on all our Product lines.
- You must work as a backup for the Quality Lead when needed.
- You must be able to work as a backup for a Quality Lab technician when needed.
- You must be able to actively participate in problem solving and discussions with cross-functional teams.
- You will take on Quality minded / continuous improvement projects when required perform additional testing and other duties as requested, including accurate documentation.
What you will bring on the journey
Education
- High School graduate
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality
Experience
- 2 years minimum QC experience in a "high volume" Manufacturing environment
- Have some experience with gauges and microscopes.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information relating to quality and production issues.
- Must possess basic math and PC skills.
- Must be able to review work order files from the operator from quality issues and missing documents to pass on to the Lead Auditor in order to advance into a Quality Lab Technician.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while managing multiple assignments with strict deadlines.
- Skilled at using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Must possess working knowledge of ISO9001.
- You must be able to independently identify process improvements and best practices.
- You must be able to be a subject matter expert (SME) on all our Product lines.
- You may work as a backup for other.
- You must be able to work as a backup for a Quality Lab technician when needed.
- You must be able to actively participate in problem solving and discussions with cross-functional teams.
