Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program. We are in search of new talent in the following position... *Position: Recreation Manager* The *Recreation Manager* is responsible for the management of the recreation department to meet the goals of the organization within its policies and procedures. The recreation manager will develop and implement recreation programs appropriate to the consumer population and supportive of social services goals of the clients. Richard F. Three years of appropriate experience, with one-year supervisory experience. Recreation Manager Principal Responsibilities: Recruit, train and supervise staff providing recreational activities to all clients. Design and implement new programs aimed at enhancing clients' motivation through socialization and the development of leisure time skills. Develop and implement special event and holiday programs. Inform consumers of all recreational services available to them. Update and post printed activities schedule. Develop contacts for off-site activities. Prepare statistical reports. Order and monitor supplies and equipment for the department.
