Concrete, Masonry & Facade Construction Inspector
We are seeking an experienced
Masonry & Facade Construction Inspector with a strong background in concrete, masonry, and exterior envelope inspections. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on field experience across residential, commercial, and mixed use projects and will be prepared to immediately support active construction and restoration work. Key Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of masonry installations, including CMU, brick, block, stone, mortar joints, reinforcement, anchors, grout, and connection systems.
- Inspect concrete work, including placement, formwork, reinforcing steel, curing, consolidation, and finished surfaces for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Conduct inspections of exterior facade systems, including cladding, veneers, flashing, waterproofing, lintels, and structural support components.
- Identify deficiencies, performance issues, and code compliance concerns related to masonry, concrete, and building envelope elements.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, documentation, photographs, and technical recommendations.
- Support forensic investigations related to cracking, settlement, moisture intrusion, facade deterioration, and structural integrity issues.
- Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and change orders to support field verification and quality control.
- Coordinate with owners, contractors, project managers, architects, and structural engineers throughout inspection and construction phases.
- Assist in project scheduling, risk assessments, punch list development, and close out processes.
- Attend project coordination and progress meetings as required.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated experience with masonry, concrete, and building facade systems.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, TMS/ACI 530, IBC).
- Ability to assess field conditions and provide clear, practical, and cost effective recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active project sites.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital field reporting tools.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of relevant inspection or construction experience with emphasis on masonry, concrete, and exterior envelope work.
- ICC certifications (e.g., Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector, Structural Masonry Special Inspector) strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
