The impact you'll make

As a Drafter/Designer, you'll play a significant role in shaping nextgeneration hardware solutions by applying your expertise in mechanical design and manufacturing techniques. In this role, you will translate engineering concepts into manufacturable solutions that improve product performance, reliability, and cost, while setting best practices in design excellence and supporting Lam's delivery of highperformance semiconductor equipment.

What you'll do
  • Design and develop precise mechanical parts and subassemblies, and create layouts to support product design and technology development while adhering to established engineering standards, best practices, and DFx principles.
  • Document and release engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) through Engineering Change Management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Supply Chain to define design and cost requirements, conduct design reviews, and complete the full design cycle.
  • Create 3D electrical and pneumatic harness routing using CAD packages.
Who we're looking for
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Design/Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience; or an advanced degree with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Highly skilled in 3D CAD applications such as Siemens NX and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems like SAP and Teamcenter.
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering, engineering/design methods and processes, and engineering drawing.
  • Solid knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication, metal machining, and casting processes.
  • Strong understanding of various material properties and their coatings and finishes.
  • Solid knowledge of welding symbols, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, surface finish, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) drafting standards.
  • Keen understanding of and experience with large assembly management methodologies and concurrent engineering principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications including CoPilot and Teams, Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred qualifications
  • Prior experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.
  • Experience in global cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $32.21 -$63.46.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
