Role Summary: Reporting to the Location/Territory Manager, the Crib Attendant/Counter Sales associate is dually responsible for managing the inventory maintenance at customer sites as well as Counter Sales responsibilities. This position will provide on-site support of customer's managed inventory at various account locations in partnership with the Account Manager. This individual will also support the Counter Sales team when not at our customer sites, providing prompt, friendly and professional service to customers in-person and over the phone.
Exciting work you will do: The essential duties and responsibilities of the Crib Attendant / Counter Sales Associate position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain and monitor inventory usage at participating customer accounts, create inventory orders while on site, and make suggestions for changing reorder points
- Make deliveries using a company-owned vehicle to customer sites and stock orders
- Maintain constant communication with Account Managers and Territory Manager, keeping them up to date on the status of VMI accounts, projects and problems
- Responsible for VMI agreement compliance, ensuring onsite inventory is accurate, reporting requirements and customer day-to-day needs are being met, and coordinating Kendall Electric support (deliveries, billings, product alignment, etc.)
- Organize onsite VMI projects including physical movement of inventory, shelf set-up, data collection, coordination of the part number cross reference process, loading part numbers, min/max levels and locations into Eclipse, and labeling bins and shelves
- Keep on-site managed inventory areas clean and uncluttered
- Watch closely for new business opportunities including items supplied by others (wire, conduit) and conversion opportunities (e.g., Square D to A-B)
- Respect the unique safety standards at various plants
- Participate in sales calls when needed
- Create reports for customers per their data and time specifications
- Process cash and credit card transactions according to company policy
- Process orders and bids into the Eclipse business system
- Assist customers with loading product into their vehicle
- Safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts and manual pallet jacks to lift and transport material
- Keep current with new product development
- Create positive relationships with customers
- Attend department meetings and other company meetings as requested
- Maintain quality service by adhering to Kendall Group policies, procedures and standards
- Perform general housekeeping

What you'll need:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, or commensurate experience
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license, vehicle and acceptable driving record; must be able to pass a DOT Medical Exam and obtain a 1-Year Card (paid for by The Kendall Group)
- Analytics/Computer Skills: Ability to use standard office equipment; proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.); strong analytical skills

Qualifications we prefer but don't require:
- General working knowledge of electrical products
- Previous counter sales experience (electrical product sales a plus)
- Inventory management skills
- Forklift experience
