What to Expect
As an Electronics Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of custom Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), including schematic capture, layout, and integration of advanced electronics. This role requires expertise in power management, Ethernet networking, and low-level communication protocols, along with proficiency in hardware testing and validation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop custom PCBAs for complex electronic systems, ensuring optimal functionality, signal integrity, and thermal management
- Create detailed schematics using industry-standard tools and perform PCB layout, including multi-layer boards with high-speed signals
- Integrate power electronics components, such as DC-DC converters, voltage regulators, and power distribution networks, to support efficient and reliable power delivery
- Implement Ethernet interfaces and low-level communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, RS-232/485) for data transfer and device control
- Conduct hardware engineering tests, including functional verification, EMC/EMI compliance, environmental stress testing, and signal integrity analysis using tools like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers
- Develop and execute validation procedures, including design for manufacturability (DFM), design for test (DFT), and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA)
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to iterate designs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless integration into final products
- Document design processes, test results, and specifications to support regulatory compliance (e.g., UL, CE, FCC) and intellectual property protection
- Stay current with emerging technologies in electronics, PCB design, and communication standards to drive innovation
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field ,or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in PCB design, schematic capture, and layout for custom electronics
- Expertise in power electronics, including power supply design, efficiency optimization, and thermal considerations
- Knowledge of Ethernet protocols and implementation, including PHY/MAC layers and network stack integration
- Proficiency in low-level communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART) and experience with embedded systems interfacing
- Experience with hardware testing and validation techniques, including automated test equipment, boundary scan (JTAG), and reliability testing
- Familiarity with CAD tools for PCB design and simulation
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team
- Strong communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration
