Systems Safety Engineer IIin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: On any given day: -Assess and model functionality of aircraft systems and their intersystem dependencies. -Assign aircraft functions to supporting systems -Assess the impact of system functional losses to the aircraft -Assess system design changes for their functional effect on the aircraft-Use cause and effect techniques to classify the importance of components based on failure effect to the aircraft-Calculate probability of failure occurrence using Boolean Algebra via Fault Tree analysis -Work with system design engineers to better system operation -Become proficient in various aircraft system designs. -Manage requirements through capturing, tracing and analyzing. -Analyze aircraft wiring to understand the system and aircraft effect for loss of wire function. -Assess aircraft compartment zones for various specific hazards such as fire, fuel and smoke due to ignition sources. -Assess the impact to the aircraft from loss of components due to an engine blade failure. Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. 18 months related Engineering experience. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years for Master's and 4 years for PhD in field applicable to the job position.
