Our Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our avionics engineering team. This position is ideal for a recent electrical engineering graduate who is enthusiastic about developing expertise in PCB design, avionics hardware, and embedded systems for high-reliability aerospace applications. In this role, you will have an onsite work schedule at our Mineral Wells, TX facility contributing to the design, documentation, sustainment, and reliability of electronic and embedded systems used in critical flight and mission equipment. You will work collaboratively with experienced engineers across multiple disciplines in a structured environment that emphasizes technical excellence, documentation rigor, and long-term product ownership. Moog Avionics delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and development of electronic circuits and printed circuit boards (PCBs) for avionics systems
  • Develop and maintain schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as Altium Designer and Mentor Graphics PADS
  • Support embedded software development and debugging activities using programming languages such as C, C++, and Python
  • Utilize Microsoft Visual Studio and related development environments for embedded and test software development
  • Contribute to hardwaresoftware integration, board bringup, and basic functional testing
  • Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design descriptions, interface documentation, BOMs, and test procedures
  • Participate in hardware sustainment efforts, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, component obsolescence resolution, and design updates
  • Support Reliability Engineering activities, including derating analysis, parts selection, and lifecycle assessments
  • Assist in the development and execution of Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) and other riskmitigation exercises
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, systems, and test engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Learn and apply applicable avionics, aerospace, and safety standards and internal engineering processes.

To be considered for the Electrical Engineer role, here are the skills you'll bring with you...

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Fundamental understanding of analog and digital circuit design
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer and/or PADS (academic project experience acceptable)
  • Exposure to programming or scripting in C, C++, and/or Python
  • Understanding of embedded systems fundamentals, including microcontrollers and hardware interfaces
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to produce clear, thorough technical documentation.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.

It would be great if you also had...

  • Internship, coop, or senior design project experience related to PCB design, embedded systems, or avionics.
  • Exposure to board bringup, embedded debugging, or hardwaresoftware integration.
  • Familiarity with FMEAs, reliability analysis, or highreliability design practices.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Basic understanding of aerospace or safetycritical development environments.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within a structured engineering organization.
  • Curiosity, accountability, and pride in engineering craftsmanship.
  • Experience working well in multi-disciplinary teams balancing hands-on technical design work with documentation and analysis.

Salary Range Transparency:

Mineral Wells, TX $60,000.00-$90,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
