Position Highlights

As a key member of the Room & Course Scheduling team within the Office of the Registrar, the Central Classroom Services Coordinator supports the University of Arizona's mission to advance student success and empower an engaging academic experience. The Coordinator ensures that over 230 Centrally Scheduled Classrooms function as highquality learning environments that elevate teaching, reduce friction for instructors and students, and support the institution's strategic imperatives.

This position provides primary support for the University Central Classroom Committee, advancing classroom renovations, accessibility improvements, and the development of Collaborative Learning Spaces (CLS). The Coordinator will serve as a single, trusted point of contact for central classrooms, building strong partnerships across campus to ensure that classroom environments enable the successful delivery of the curriculum and cocurricular activities.

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the academic record. Serving all students, faculty, academic units, and student support functions, the Office is charged with the implementation of academic and student policies and their alignment to state and federal regulations and accreditation standards. The Office strives to be a leader and thought partner in creating efficient processes that are designed in a way that supports student success and service excellence.


This position offers a hybrid work arrangement. While many responsibilities may be completed remotely, the role requires weekly onsite presence at the Tucson, Arizona campus to fulfill duties that must be performed in person.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analyze, set, and adhere to service level agreements for a quick resolution (this includes ensuring appropriate setup of classrooms and physical supplies).
  • Resolve all non-technical issues in Centrally Scheduled Classrooms Analyze, set, and adhere to service level agreements for a quick resolution.
  • Establish strong working relationships with campus partners in Facilities Management, Disability Resource Center, and Instructional Technology Services, in support of classrooms.
  • Participate in and support the cross-functional Central Classroom Committee. Support the University Center for Assessment, Teaching, & Technology in administering the Collaborative Learning Spaces (CLS).
  • Provide assistance to academic and nonacademic departments in the scheduling of events and rooms.
  • Train and work closely with student staff to support event processing, classroom assignments, and classroom inspections.
  • Ensure appropriate setup of classroom layouts, instructor stations, and physical supplies.
  • Manage the data and communications of the CLS Preferred Instructor List.
  • Schedule Preferred Instructors in CLS rooms during Priority Scheduling.
  • Assist in identifying appropriate classrooms for renovation or other needed upgrades.
  • Schedule preferred instructors in CLS rooms during priority scheduling.
  • Assist in resolving Schedule of Classes issues.
  • Participate and contribute to RCS department initiatives, including facilitating training and Schedule of Classes Resolution Weeks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic working knowledge in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work well in teams and groups, and to establish strong working relationships with multiple campus constituencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate complex issues with creative problem solving.
  • Ability to be adaptable.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and/or Ad Astra Experience and understanding of classroom use.
  • Experience and understanding of class scheduling practices.
  • Experience analyzing data and creating summative reports.
