Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Budget Analyst (Budget Analysis, Junior Analyst) to support a federal government client in the Washington, DC area.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule. Schedule is subject to change based on client and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with interpreting and applying budget policies, regulations, and appropriations guidance.
  • Review and process financial transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure correct assignment of funding codes for programs and appropriations.
  • Monitor funding levels and track execution progress to support program and financial oversight.
  • Support all phases of the budget cycle, including planning, formulation, justification, and execution.
  • Provide analysis and reporting to support resource planning, financial performance assessment, and program oversight.
  • Track and organize financial documents and ensure timely entry into appropriate financial systems.
  • Support budget activities related to shared services and coordination requirements as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of experience supporting budget or financial analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with financial systems or databases.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the federal budget cycle and related processes.
  • Knowledge of interagency agreements or Treasury processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective briefing and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret federal budget guidance and reference materials.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as the CGFM.

Education

BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.

Clearance

All applicants for this position must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

For this position, the projected compensation range is $48,316 - $81,524 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
