JOB MISSION:

New Balance seeks an experienced IT network / infrastructure manager to plan and implement new technology, services and processes to meet the rapid growth of the company. The manager will lead a small team of associates and partner with a variety of stakeholders to transform and modernize the New Balance global network. The candidate must have well-rounded skills and experience in managing engineers, PM's, vendors, process development activities, strategic plan development, budgets. The manager will primarily focus on core / shared network infrastructure and global initiatives, partnering with peer managers who oversee network operations and "BAU" projects. The candidate must be able to analyze current state, gather requirements, develop future state, plan and implement change towards the future state. A balance of skills is required, and the candidate must be equally adept at technology, people / team leadership, analysis, business, planning, project / program management, writing and presenting. The candidate must have previous experience managing global IT infrastructure including network services.

Strategic initiatives may include modernization of LAN, WAN, WiFi, DDI, and cloud security providers; implementation of global tech standards; and integration with other tech infrastructure and services. The manager will assess situations, sort through ambiguity and complexity, and drive organizational and technology change across the global footprint of NB offices, factories, distribution centers, and retail stores. We do not seek a strictly technical manager (i.e., not the technical leader of the group), but one who is well-rounded in business, implementation, interpersonal, planning and technical skills alike.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Organize and plan strategic initiatives into clearly scoped projects or work streams. This includes developing project roadmaps, project plans, resource plans, budgets, timelines and other communications & planning materials.

  • Work with the technical staff to stay abreast of new technology and vendors; apply resulting solutions to solve complex problems and drive efficiencies.

  • Research any information required to successfully plan an initiative or major project. Self-sufficiency, strong sense of ownership and "discovery" capabilities will be required.

  • Identify and implement solutions that increase the scalability, security, performance and reliability of NB's communications infrastructure.

  • Oversee multiple projects of various sizes and complexity at any given time.

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, or in some cases maintain awareness of a given budget.

  • Oversee vendor selection, RFP processes, and contract management.

  • Champion best practices in change management, operational readiness, and tech adoption.

  • Lead the planning and execution of largescale infrastructure and technology transformation programs, ensuring alignment with business strategy.

  • Coordinate crossfunctional teams across engineering, architecture, infosec, operations, and business units.

  • Manage the intake and scoping for new projects. Interface with various stakeholders regarding projects and requirements for new tech & services.

  • Write various documentation including strategic plans, light business cases / justifications, program status, tactical plans, progress reports, processes and procedures.

  • Handle various business responsibilities including budget management, procurement tasks, vendor and contract negotiations, defining services and service levels, etc.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in IT infrastructure.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in IT network infrastructure.

  • 4+ years of international experience, working in a multi-national company.

  • Project and Program Management experience. Experience managing a variety of IT infrastructure projects.

  • Procurement related experience such as writing Purchase Order req's, evaluating RFP responses (both technical and financial aspects), writing CAR's (mini business cases), etc.

  • Budget forecasting and cost control experience.

Boston, MA Headquarters - (NB) Only Pay Range: $162,500.00 - $203,000.00 - $243,500.00 Annual (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year.
