ATS Company: SP Industries Requisition ID: 16735 Location: Vineland, NJ, US, 08360 Date: Mar 17, 2026 Engineering Co-Op SP Industries Inc. is expanding our team in Vineland, NJ and have an immediate opening for an Engeineering Co-Op. In this role, the right candidate willsupport continuous improvement efforts across production through process optimization, automation, and tooling development. This role involves analyzing manufacturing workflows, conducting time studies, and conducting the design and implementation of new tooling, fixtures, and automated systems. The intern will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across operations. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, analytical, and eager to gain hands on experience applying engineering principles in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role reports directly to Human Resources with a dotted line to the Engineering & Quality Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify and support process improvement projects, including via automation, new tooling/fixturing, process changes, 5S/Lean principles, etc. Coordinate with other engineers, local machine shops, and production teams for the design, fabrication, and validation of new tooling. Conduct time studies and analyze production workflows. Support equipment setup, calibration, and troubleshooting. Ensure routers, bills of materials, and standard procedures are updated in accordance with the improvements implemented, utilizing ECNs as necessary. Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action activities. Work collaboratively and/or independently and provide technical assistance across departments as needed. EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Skilled in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Very mechanically inclined with a good understanding of manufacturing processes. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Highly motivated for fast-paced work in a production environment. AutoCAD/Solidworks experience preferred. EDUCATION: Currently enrolled in (or a graduate of) a four-year Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering field.
