DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Security Officers play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of everyone at the Farm Show Complex, as well as protecting Commonwealth staff and property. In this role, your responsibilities include managing traffic flow, collecting parking fees, welcoming and assisting visitors, and patrolling both the Complex and parking areas, especially during the busy show season.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • FREE on-site parking
  • Temporary full-time employment
  • Shifts available:
    • Saturday - Wednesday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (September - May)
    • Thursday - Monday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (July - March)
    • Friday - Tuesday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (July - March)
  • This position is considered essential and as such is required to report to working during emergencies and office closings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • This particular position requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience working in crowds and in large-scale public events.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
