Network/System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a System Engineer / Design Team Lead for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX, Charlotte, NC or Kennesaw, GA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role, often referred to as a Design Team Lead (DTL), is responsible for translating business requirements into low-level and high-level technical design solutions. The ideal candidate will partner with technology infrastructure subject matter experts (SMEs) to produce design solutions that meet business needs, ensuring compliance with architecture standards. This position involves creating infrastructure designs, managing project deliverables, and coordinating with project managers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the client to understand Business Requirements by reviewing the Business Requirements Document
• Translate Business Requirements into Technical Requirements and identify appropriate SMEs for design discussions
• Translate Technical Requirements into a Low Level Design (LLD) solution using the IT Service Management (ITSM) Framework
• Partner with several Technology Infrastructure (TI) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to produce a design solution that meets the Business Requirements
• Produce High Level Designs (HLDs) using Visio and Adobe along with LLDs
• Understand Reference Architecture standards to produce a standard and supported solution
• Work closely with the Chief Engineer and Capacity Planner to agree on a hosting target location and solution around sizing of CPU, Memory, and Storage
• Document requirements for CPU, Memory, Disk, backups, applications, hosting location, and maintenance windows
• Work closely with the Technology Project Manager to communicate status, updates, and escalate issues
• Support Technology Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

• Ability to create End-to-End Infrastructure Solutions
• Knowledge of database technologies and interfaces
• Understanding of Cloud and Cloud-based technologies
• Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP, TCP, DNS, Load-balancers)
• Ability to create conceptual infrastructure designs using MS Visio
• Customer service-focused, with good communications skills, a self-starter, and self-supervised
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead the design (Analyze) phase of a project
• Able to articulate proposed solutions to business representatives and technical hosting team resources

Desired skills:

• Software Developer experience
• Understanding of internal project management processes and required outputs
• Oracle Cloud or AWS solution experience
• Experience with Agile tools (Jenkins), UNIX, and DevOps

Pay range: $63.94 - $71.94 per hour
