Primary Work Location: One Beacon Street, Boston, MA and remote. Job Summary: The Academic Policy Intern for the Department of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Equity will work with the Senior Vice President on topics related to higher education policy, Massachusetts general law, UMass trustee policies, federal higher education policy, as well as summarizing and synthesizing current executive orders, memoranda, and proclamations from the federal government that impact higher education and UMass. Specifically, the candidate will develop executive summaries, presentations, memos, and other educational and information materials that advance the use of artificial intelligence to conduct in-depth research, gather intelligence, and synthesize information on the topics mentioned above and the five UMass campuses. The candidate should be an effective writer, a creative content developer for presentation and slide deck development, and conscientious in their work. An enthusiasm for innovation, equity, and adapting to new tools and technologies is preferred. This part-time internship has a pay rate of $17 per hour. Academic credit may also be available. Working Conditions: Hybrid work environment. Primarily located at the UMass President's Office located at One Beacon Street, Boston, MA with remote work. Any offers of an internship within the President's Office are conditioned explicitly upon the potential candidate consenting to and completing a background review.
