The Maintenance Technician is responsible for complex maintenance and janitorial duties in addition to basic maintenance and janitorial responsibilities.

Opportunity Details:



  • The targeted pay range for this job is $25.12 - $27.00 per hour.
  • Full-Time 64 hrs bi-weekly - Weekdays 8am-4:30pm - occasional on-call/weekend/holiday requirements.
  • A valid Minnesota Special Engineers Boiler License is needed for this role, but it's not required to apply. If you don't currently hold one, that's okay, you'll just need to obtain it within six months of hire. We'll support you through the process including covering the cost of training and the licensing exam.

Essential Job Responsibilities:



  1. Operates all building equipment, including HVAC and other fixed asset equipment, performing manufacturer's recommended routine maintenance tasks as identified in the preventive maintenance software.
  2. Completes work requests for non-routine repairs on all building equipment including performing apartment room turns involving minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc. including resident requests for service.
  3. Maintains maintenance and janitorial supply and equipment levels, reports procurement needs to supervision.
  4. Initiates regulatory compliance tasks such as fire drills and emergency generator operations, logging all such activity as required.
  5. Provides training to new team members on work assignments and schedules.
  6. Works with contractors performing upgrades, repairs, or new installations.
  7. Follows all established safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions to supervision, participates in safety committee meetings or conducts regular safety training to staff, documenting all activities.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.


Driving Requirements: Local Travel and Driver's License Required

Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years janitorial/maintenance experience
  • Boiler operator license as mandated by state/city and/or other certification/licensure required per building specifications
  • Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Globally Harmonized System (GHS), Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
