Position Summary
The Publications Editor will work independently under the direction of the Associate Chief for Academic Affairs and Department Director to support the professional development and research activities of over 120 Cardiology faculty members.

Key responsibilities
  • Support the writing needs of Cardiology faculty throughout the department, as needed.
  • Translate scientific terminology and concepts for clinical, scientific, and lay audiences.
  • Review and edit manuscripts, chapters, grant submissions, and presentation slides.
  • Review Curriculum vitae for faculty members and produce written narratives
  • Oversee proofreading procedures and edit copy when necessary
  • Format references and book outlines.
  • Format the final manuscript and figures according to specific journal requirements.
  • Potential for expanded copyediting duties over time.


Minimum qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, or a related field preferred.

Experience:
  • 3 years of relevant experience required. Medical or scientific background preferred.
  • Must be detail-and deadline-oriented, dependable, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
  • Must possess excellent service, clerical, written, and verbal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment to solve problems.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
