Position Highlights

The Research Coordinator works with the research study teams in the Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities related to health and wellness and refugees, providing support for the conduct of community-informed research. This individual will coordinate meetings, maintain study documentation, supervise students/trainees, and collaborate with teams on data analysis and manuscript writing, among other duties. The Research Coordinator will also work with community partners, providing resources and information, as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the development, implementation, execution and initial interpretation of studies, including preparing reports, graphs and other summary materials.
  • Coordinates and conducts multiple clinical research studies according to protocol, including subject recruitment, consenting, and administration of protocol required procedures.
  • Develop and provide training and guidance for study support personnel.
  • Provides team coordination, communication, training, and quality control.
  • Assists in the development of standard operating procedures, IRB regulatory documentation, and tracking documents.
  • Helps train and support students and trainees.
  • Develops standard operating procedures, IRB documentation, and tracking documents.
  • Day-to-day coordination of study support personnel and student research assistants.
  • Attend research meetings as required by the individual study, investigator, or Vice Chair for Research.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals in and outside academia.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Knowledge of research processes, with knowledge of qualitative research a plus.
  • Knowledge of disability service systems and issues relevant to disability and refugee communities.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
