Systems Engineer Washington, DC Pay From: $140,000 per hour MUST: Experienced Systems Engineer 10 years of experience supporting enterprise grade routers and switches in large data center environments 3 years of experience (specific experience) Expert-level knowledge of BGP and OSPF, including traffic engineering, route optimization, and failover design. Strong expertise in TCP/IP troubleshooting and packet analysis. Hands-on experience configuring and supporting: BGP, OSPF, and STP on Cisco NX-OS and IOS-XE platforms and Cisco Nexus (9K, 7K) and Catalyst switches and routers Proven experience designing, planning, testing, implementing, and troubleshooting large-scale data center networks. Experience with network management and monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds and Cisco Catalyst Center. Experience with cloud networking and hybrid network architectures DUTIES: Design, implement, and maintain internal and external network infrastructure supporting critical business applications. Support day-to-day network operations and ongoing initiatives, including routing and switching troubleshooting, maintenance activities, and operational support. Develop and implement new network designs and improvements to enhance performance, resiliency, and scalability. Plan and execute network upgrades in collaboration with internal teams. Proactively monitor and analyze network health using enterprise monitoring and management platforms. Participate in cloud migration and hybrid network initiatives.
