Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Messaging Engineer.

This role is responsible for the development and support of Messaging Systems including monitoring and troubleshooting of the Firm's On-prem and Cloud infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence, high performance, industry standard compliant security and high availability of said systems.

This position will reside in our Seattle office with a hybrid in-office/remote working arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to users and IT department for service and support requests and provides troubleshooting and incident resolution of issues to the messaging infrastructure, which includes the core messaging and email platforms.

  • Administers all operational aspects of the Firm's enterprise email system on Exchange/Enterprise Vault/Proofpoint/Trend, as well as the Active Directory.

  • Monitors the systems to ensure proactive and prompt incident resolutions.

  • Builds, configures, and administers Windows servers with different Exchange, Axway Proofpoint or Trend roles.

  • Plans and executes patch and code upgrades and maintains the health and security of the entire messaging infrastructure.

  • Supports and administers the email client (Outlook), instant messaging platform (Microsoft Teams) and provides support to mobile messaging team.

  • Administers third-party support systems.

  • Designs, implements and manages High Availability and Disaster Recovery contingencies and procedures.

  • Works with other teams in the development, implementation, testing, and rollout of new hardware, software, and applications as they relate to messaging.

  • Researches and evaluates relevant products and technologies, and makes purchase recommendations.

  • Provides Tier III support by responding to customer requests, incidents and problems related to our messaging systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technical knowledge.

  • 5+ years of related experience in an IT Operations, System Administration/Engineering or Infrastructure role and must possess proficiencies in core messaging systems as described above.

  • Preferred: Microsoft Certifications related to Azure Cloud fundamentals, Microsoft Exchange & Microsoft Teams

  • Thorough command of the industry language and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a variety of technical and non-technical users.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, use initiative and judgment to accomplish results, participate as a team leader or member of a team, work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate, timely and professional manner.

  • Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all learning styles, personality types and levels of management, staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of the Firm.

  • Ability to travel (limited) to the Firm's other offices as necessary.

For positions in Seattle, WA, the salary range for this job posting is: $102,300.00 - $163,650.00.

The base salary wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position will also include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and policies then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in: a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, business travel accident insurance plans, and health savings and flexible spending accounts for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and policies then in effect, eligible employees may utilize the Employee Assistance Program, Work/Life Services, Health Advocate, Bright Horizons Back-Up Child Care, and WageWorks Commuter Benefits for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Employees will also receive: 9 paid holidays per calendar year, 2 personal days per year, and up to 20 days of vacation per year. In accordance with state applicable law, eligible employees will earn 1 paid sick leave hour for 30 hours worked. Eligible employees may also take up to five days off for bereavement leave, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave per year and up to 10 weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave per pregnancy. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
