Job Title: Advanced Process Improvement Engineer - Live Oak Plant

Job Summary:

This position is located at the Milliken Live Oak Plant located in LaGrange, GA. The position is responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts at the site. It plays a key role in the development and implementation of manufacturing process improvements that drive new performance levels, improve quality, consistency and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of all factors and conditions that impact the processes and products, including environmental impacts
  • Identify and implement equipment and process changes
  • Create and maintain procedures in accordance with ISO9001
  • Use sound project management skills to manage multiple improvement projects
  • Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking skills and focused improvement methods
  • Incorporate creative thinking into the problem solving approach to identify unique and different ways to make things better/more consistent/faster/cheaper/efficient
  • Prepare diagrams, charts, tables to reflect findings and support recommendations
  • Work closely with the Product Development area to create new samples and products
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of associates to accomplish project and location goals
  • Participate fully in the Safety Process
  • Respond to after hour calls regarding process and equipment (nights and weekends)

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment and familiar with LEAN manufacturing, FMEA and Process Hazards Analysis, Process Control Systems
  • Prior experience in analyzing capital investments
