Job Description:

The Senior Inspector will serve as the technical lead for aerospace and defense electronics, ensuring total compliance with J-STD-001 Class 3, NASA, and IPC-A-610 standards. You will perform critical inspections of PCBAs and mechanical subassemblies, lead First Article Inspections (FAI), and represent the company during government and customer audits. This role acts as a vital bridge between production and engineering, driving product conformity through rigorous documentation review and root cause analysis.

  • Perform inspection activities in accordance with Manufacturing Routers/Travelers, engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), process specifications, and applicable military standards.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming materials, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs/PWBAs), magnetics, subassemblies, and final products to ensure compliance with workmanship and contractual requirements.
  • Represent the company during customer and government source inspections by presenting hardware and supporting required documentation.
  • Inspect electronic components and assemblies using microscopes and precision mechanical instruments to verify compliance with specifications. Perform inspections in accordance with J-STD-001 Class 3, IPC-A-610, applicable military standards, and NASA requirements where applicable.
  • Use precision measuring equipment to verify mechanical and dimensional characteristics are within specified tolerances.
  • Review and verify completeness and accuracy of documentation in accordance with work order travelers and internal quality procedures.
  • Verify assembly and test setups as required and perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with engineering drawings, process procedures, and work order requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, material control, and Quality Assurance personnel to ensure product conformity and timely resolution of quality issues.
  • Support preparation and review of data packages and perform required data entry in quality systems.
  • Participate in failure investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action activities, metric tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support quality and operational objectives.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Minimum 5 years direct working experience as Quality Inspector.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct working experience as a printed wiring board (circuit card) assembly (PCBA / PWBA) inspector is required.
  • Minimum 2years of direct working experience as a mechanical inspector is required.
  • Minimum 2year experience in performing first article inspection is required.
  • Prior working experience as Quality Inspector for aerospace or defense products is preferred.
  • Current J-STD-001 and NASA training or certification holder is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task while paying careful attention to detail
  • Prior success working both individually and in a team environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal direction
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow detailed work specifications
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Adaptability to frequent change and improvements
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential
  • Ability to wear the required Protective Equipment
  • Basic computer, math and reading comprehension skills
  • Must be 18 years of age

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $22.00-$33.00.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
