We are seeking a strategic and mission-driven leader to serve as the SVP of Strategy & Product Marketing for Missionforce, our dedicated business unit focused on delivering Salesforce's AI CRM platform to government entities. This is an opportunity to build and scale one of Salesforce's most strategically important and fastest-growing businesses. The SVP will sit at the intersection of strategy, operations, and go-to-market, defining the vision, driving operational excellence, and bringing Salesforce's unique value to the public sector.

This role will report directly to the Missionforce CEO and manage a team of VPs and Sr. Directors.

Responsibilities:

Business Strategy

  • Define and drive the long-term strategic vision and plan for the Missionforce business.

  • Identify and lead high-impact strategic initiatives that accelerate growth and advance the business's objectives.

  • Serve as a key thought partner and advisor to the CEO and his leadership team.

  • Participate in senior executive, Board, and customer meetings, articulating and advocating for the Missionforce vision and strategy.

  • Develop and execute strategies to amplify the business's voice internally and externally.

  • Partner cross-functionally (esp. product and sales) to align strategy with execution, influencing without authority in a heavily matrixed environment.

Product Marketing

  • Own end-to-end product marketing strategy for the Missionforce portfolio.

  • Lead a team of Product Marketers who define the positioning, messaging, and GTM motions, ensuring resonance with government leaders, technical buyers, and mission owners.

  • Lead the team responsible for developing the sales narrative, proof points, and enablement materials that empower sellers to confidently articulate Salesforce's differentiated value in target markets.

  • Work with central marketing teams to drive campaigns and mission-aligned content that generate pipeline, support contract capture efforts, and accelerate deals through the government procurement cycle.

  • Represent the business at key industry and customer-facing events.

Business Operations

  • Establish and oversee the operational cadence, financial rigor, and cross-functional accountability mechanisms that enable Missionforce to execute at scale.

  • Oversee the Missionforce budget with quarterly reviews ensuring optimal resource allocation across customer, product, infrastructure, and GTM investments.

  • Drive optimization of resource allocation to the highest-ROI initiatives while maintaining flexibility to capitalize on emerging opportunities.

  • Lead strategic planning processes that align team priorities, surface blockers early, and ensure accountability across all objectives.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, with a track record of defining and executing business, marketing, and/or product strategies.

  • Operates as a valuable thought partner to C-suite and senior executives.

  • Builds cross-functional relationships and influence in a matrixed environment.

  • Executive-level presentation and communication skills.

  • Clearly articulates product value proposition and drives GTM strategy globally.

  • Establishes operational cadence, drives accountability, and optimizes resource allocation.

  • Leads a complex, multi-disciplinary organization across competing priorities.

  • Demonstrates success building and leading high performing teams.

  • Mission-driven mindset with a genuine passion for serving government customers.

  • U.S. citizen; no dual citizenship.

  • Active security clearance or interest in obtaining one.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $228,550 - $305,760 annually There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range for this role in those locations is $251,440 - $336,280 per year. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
