We are currently seeking a Full-Time Sous Chef (Hourly) who brings strong culinary expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence. What Will You Be Doing?

As a Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role in supporting kitchen operations and ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all food production areas. Responsibilities include:

* Assisting the Executive Chef in supervising, training, and scheduling culinary team members including cooks and kitchen staff.

* Actively participating in food preparation while ensuring adherence to recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations.

* Monitoring food production, portion control, and workflow to meet productivity goals and cost targets.

* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout all kitchen and storage areas.

* Supporting menu development, including creating and implementing new dishes based on seasonal trends and guest preferences.

* Inspecting and auditing food storage, inventory, and product quality to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

* Overseeing kitchen operations during peak service periods to ensure smooth execution and presentation.

* Communicating effectively with team members and other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.

* Assisting in inventory management, vendor coordination, and cost control initiatives.

* Ensuring proper food storage, labeling, and rotation procedures are consistently followed.

* Preparing banquet and special event food as requested, including VIP functions and group events.

* Monitoring kitchen equipment and reporting maintenance needs to ensure operational efficiency.

* Supporting administrative responsibilities such as forecasting, budgeting assistance, and operational planning.

* Promoting a positive, professional kitchen environment through leadership, teamwork, and accountability.

* Performing additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or leadership team.

What Will You Bring to the Role?

We are seeking a skilled culinary professional with strong leadership abilities and a passion for high-quality food preparation. Ideal candidates will have:

* A high school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary training (minimum 2 years) preferred.

* At least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a culinary supervisory role.

* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, international and domestic cuisines, and kitchen operations.

* Understanding of cost control, inventory management, and food safety practices.

* Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

* Knowledge of food safety certifications (ServSafe required or ability to obtain; CPR/First Aid a plus).

* Basic computer skills related to inventory systems and kitchen operations.

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperature conditions.

* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physically demanding kitchen tasks.

* Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional kitchen environment.
