Position Summary

The Quality Systems Improvement Engineer works within the Quality Assurance department to drive process improvements cross-functionally. This includes utilizing various software to identify issues/inefficiencies, taking ownership, and leading the improvement project to completion.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of quality awareness.

  • Attend meetings for Quality, report on progress, and communicate roadblocks to completing tasks.

  • Develop/improve and lead implementation of Quality processes to increase efficiency while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Analyze Quality data to drive continuous improvement utilizing software such as Power BI, TIPQA, Epicor, SigmaSure, and Microsoft SSMS.

  • Own all aspects of TIPQA including administration, upgrades, and maintenance.

  • Works with cross-functional team members and outside experts as required to coordinate the analysis of data review and analysis in support of final root cause and corrective action determination.

  • Ensure the products & processes are within customer quality systems specifications and comply with AS9100.

  • Develop new approaches to problem solving identified during quality assurance activities.

  • Serve as a quality assurance resource cross functionally for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.

  • Report to programs on quality issues, trends, and losses.

  • Performs in-process quality monitoring of factory assembly lines and engineering assembly labs.

  • Assists with compiling, writing and delivering training on quality standards and company processes.

  • All staff is required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety by adhering to established safety policies and procedures, to not willfully place at risk the health or safety of any individual and to wear personal protective equipment as specified in work instructions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) and 4+ years of related experience.
May be required to maintain security clearance.

This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

Experience working within various software packages and utilizing database querying languages preferred.

  • Requires at times to work long hours including overtime

  • Will require some travel for personal training and customer/supplier visits

  • Use of normal office equipment including: copier, phone and personal computer using Microsoft Office

Work Environment:

This job operates in a production floor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasionally the work environment may be loud.

Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) and 4+ years of related experience.
May be required to maintain security clearance
