Job Description:

Providing for loved ones, planning rewarding retirements, saving enough for whatever lies ahead - our policyholders count on us to be there when it matters most. It's a big ask, but it's one that we have the power to deliver when we work together. We collaborate and innovate - pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it's the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it's a career with purpose. It's a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future - including your own.

We're actively seeking a talented Senior Operations Instructional Designer to join our Consumer Markets Division (CMD) Training Team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE.

As a Senior Operations Instructional Designer, you will move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by leading the design of highimpact, businessfocused learning solutions that improve performance across Operations. You'll partner closely with business leaders, trainers, and subject matter experts to translate complex operational needs into effective, scalable learning experiences that drive measurable results.

You will fill a new role that sits on a collaborative team of instructional designers and training professionals within CMD. Your colleagues include fellow Instructional Designers, Training Facilitators, and Operations stakeholders, and the team works in close partnership to ensure learning solutions are aligned, practical, and grounded in realworld workflows.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Lead needs assessments and performance analysis in partnership with Operations leaders to identify learning gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.

  • Design and develop endtoend learning solutions, including curricula, eLearning, simulations, job aids, assessments, and blended learning experiences.

  • Apply adult learning theory and instructional design models to create engaging, effective, and scalable learning programs aligned to business outcomes.

  • Mentor and support junior instructional designers, contributing to standards, best practices, and team capability development.

  • Measure learning effectiveness using data and feedback, translating insights into continuous improvement and strategic recommendations.

  • Serve as a trusted learning consultant to Operations leaders, advising on whether training is the right solution and recommending alternative performance supports when appropriate.

  • Translate business goals and performance data into strategic learning plans, including objectives, timelines, and success measures.

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of instructional design experience, with demonstrated success supporting business or operationsfocused training.

  • Handson experience with instructional design and content development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline/Rise, Camtasia, Vyond, PowerPoint, LMS platforms).

  • Strong capability in needs analysis, curriculum design, writing learning objectives, assessment development, and evaluation of learning effectiveness.

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholdermanagement skills, with the ability to influence without authority and navigate complexity.

What makes you stand out:

  • Advanced degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, or a related field.

  • Experience designing learning for regulated, operational, or productiondriven environments.

  • Proven ability to connect learning solutions to measurable business outcomes and performance improvement.
