Assistant CAD Operator 2

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Assistant CAD Operator 2, also known as a Transmission Designer/Drafter. This position is eligible for GAI's flexible Hybrid workplace place/Telework Policy and will report to the Orlando, FL office three times a week. The ideal candidate has good analytical thinking, problem-solving techniques, computer-aided drafting (CAD) experience, and excellent communication skills.

Essential Job Duties:

• Design transmission lines, including drawing preparation, bill of materials development, material ordering, and developing PLS-CADD models.
• Follow local utility and construction standards.
• Ability to learn, retain and apply on the job training and use design software packages efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively in design teams.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be flexible to handle shifting deadlines and scope changes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Other duties as assigned.

General Characteristics

• Accountable for deliverables as assigned.
• Able to take and follow verbal instruction.
• Demonstrates intermediate toadvanced knowledge of CAD skills. Focuses on quality.
• Accountable for time management.

Minimum Years of Experience

• 2+ Years of Experience

Education

• Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School

Technical Responsibilities

• Ability to utilize software to complete a design package.
• Ability to organize data. General understanding of drawing package procedures.

Project and Task Management

• Responsible for personal task management and adherence todeadlines and scope

Management Responsibility

• No Management responsibilities.
• Close supervision for difficult projects

Communication Skills

• Possess good oral and written communication skills. interacts effectively with other staff
