Description

The hours for the Dishwasher summer position are Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Position Summary

The Dishwasher supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and food service equipment are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety standards. This role helps maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment to support employees and food service staff.

Key Responsibilities



  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, trays, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, counters, and food prep areas
  • Empty trash and recycling; maintain waste and compost areas
  • Restock clean dishes and supplies in designated areas
  • Assist with basic food prep tasks as needed (e.g., portioning, stocking, labeling)
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines
  • Support cafeteria team during peak meal periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Food Service Manager


Qualifications



  • Previous dishwasher or food service experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and carry items
  • Comfortable working in a warm, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environment


    Work Environment



    • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, heat, steam, and noise
    • Must follow all company and OSHA safety standards
