Summary:
The Exercise Physiologist role will prescribe, implement and supervise the physical exercise program for Cardiac Rehabilitation and is responsible for coordinating cardiac and pulmonary rehab classes, including evaluation of exercise stress testing, calculation of safe and effective prescription, and the development of quality group exercise programming that maximizes progression and self-monitoring.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or other Committee on Accreditation for Exercise Sciences (CoAES) accredited degree program required.
  2. License/Certifications: Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM CEP certification) required within 3 months of start date for positions at SMHC and one year of start date for positions at MMC. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or must obtain within three months of start date. Required to participate in the AACVPR re-certification process for Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  3. Experience: Minimum one year of clinical or exercise physiology related experience, training, and/or education.
