The Automated Enforcement Unit (AEU) is part of the Division of Traffic Operations at the NYC Department of Transportation. AEU manages four automated enforcement programs: red light, bus lane, speed, and Weigh-in-Motion (WIM). Minimum Qualifications A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory, full-time experience related to the projects and policies to be studied in the particular position. -The ideal candidate will bring strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate leadership priorities into clear, actionable plans. -Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the role involves preparing executive briefings, developing recommendations, and supporting high-level decision-making. -The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment and discretion, with the ability to manage sensitive or confidential matters and operate with a high degree of independence. -Experience with supporting the development of new initiatives and identifying opportunities for improvement is preferred. -Familiarity with transportation policy, public safety programs, Vision Zero, or automated enforcement is desirable, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, technical staff, and partner agencies. -The role is well suited for a detail-oriented, adaptable professional who can support strategic planning and implementation while helping advance the continued growth and modernization of NYC DOT's automated enforcement programs.
