Seeking a highly motivated individual to lead and support the development and commercialization of products and technologies related to sealants and water-proofing. Relatable chemistries include reactive silanes, reactive (and nonreactive) polyurethanes, silicones, acrylics, epoxies and various hybrid technologies. This position provides the opportunity to lead project teams and collaborate with stakeholders from multiple departments such as Commercialization, Marketing, Raw Materials, and Operations. This position is accountable for leading the formulation of new coatings technologies and development of new test methods through physical, technical, and other measurement techniques.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center located at 6745 Miller Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.

Responsibilities include:

* Identification/assessment of coatings / sealants / waterproofing technologies, paint making and testing, data analysis and application of paint/sealant formulation/knowledge to meet performance requirements for new architectural product lines.

* Significant interaction with Marketing, Engineering, PT and other various support groups and vendors to ensure successful and timely product development.

* Strong written documentation and verbal presentation of information and the ability to adapt to various audiences.

* Demonstrate independent data driven decision making based on data and technical expertise

* Highly adaptable and demonstrates ability to create and adjust project timelines as needed and manages own time.

* Mentor/coach/train others, especially in the areas of sealants and water-proofing

BASIC QUALIFICATION:
* Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
* Must be at least 18 years of age

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math ("STEM") field

Preferred:
* Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or higher

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
* 6+ years of lab experience
* 6+ years of coatings/sealants formulation or processing related field
* Project management experience
* Resolves complex problems and develops the solution of problems, formulation, development, process, maintenance, and equipment issues
* Works independently through planning, execution, analysis, documentation and application of work consistently providing quality work
* Knowledge of statistics and data

Preferred:
* DFSS certification

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred:
* Design of Experiments, Minitab, Business Objects, DFSS, 6-Sigma Certification

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:
10%
