The CSW will provide continuous, comprehensive mental health services including crisis intervention, outreach, therapy, and case management to a caseload of severely mentally ill adults who are high users of psychiatric mental health services, often with concurrent substance abuse and/or health problems.

Required Qualifications:

* CSW I: Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling or related field from an accredited school of social work or equivalent experience/training and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
* CSW II: Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling from an accredited school of social work and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker, as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
* Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others
* Ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume area and work well under pressure and with deadlines
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and be detail-oriented
* Ability to efficiently prepare written summaries of activities, set priorities, and complete reports within required timeframes
* Knowledge of medical and/or psychiatric terminology
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work as a team member in a culturally diverse setting
* Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs
* Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
* An understanding of mental health issues and sensitivity toward mental health clients

Preferred Qualifications:

* Two (2) years working with severely mentally ill adults, the homeless, and dual-diagnosed populations
* One (1) year experience working with African American clients
* One (1) year experience doing community-based case management and the ability to do outreach, including to SRO hotels
* Prior related UC experience
* Case management experience

License/Certification:

* Registration/eligibility to register with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences
