Position Summary

Responsibility for leading operation of maintenance team (mechanical/electrical) technicians, crib attendants and maintenance planner to support production needs. Implements under the direction of the Maintenance Manager the Parker Lean system and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and safe work practices.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance (PM) and support predictive maintenance programs to improve uptime and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Use the CMMS to manage work orders, backlog prioritization, asset history, PM compliance, labor reporting, and continuous improvement actions.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment (e.g., CNC, assembly equipment, hydraulics/pneumatics, conveyors, utilities, or facility systems as applicable).
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions for recurring failures; implement reliability improvements.
  • Manage spare parts and critical inventory, including cycle counts, min/max levels, obsolescence controls, and vendor coordination.
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with Operations to align maintenance execution to production needs.
  • Support budgeting activities for maintenance materials, parts, and external services; manage contractors as needed.
  • Coach and develop technicians through apprenticeship, training plans, standardized work, and skills progression; support performance management processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools (e.g., standard work, 5S, visual management, Kaizen, PDCA) in the maintenance function.
  • Maintain accurate documentation (SOPs, PM instructions, LOTO procedures, equipment manuals) and ensure audit readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

3- 5 years' management or supervisory experience.

Sufficient background in PC skills, manufacturing, human resource management and inventory control.

Demonstrated teamwork and teambuilding skills. Ability to assess and develop individual and team skills and capabilities.

Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for challenges. Serve as model by promoting safety, new ideas and positive change.

Good written and verbal communication skills.
