GIS Technician

Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a GIS Technician to join our team in our Holly Springs, NC or Greenville, SC location. What You Will Be Doing:

The GIS Technician is responsible for managing GIS databases and generating maps to support project deliverables. This role involves accurate data entry, manipulation of complex GIS datasets, and providing GIS software support to staff and clients.

• Responsible for entering data accurately and managing data.
• Responsible for the generation of maps and project deliverables.
• Able to manipulate large, complex GIS data sets.
• Provides GIS software related support to staff and clients as needed.
• Assist with the set up and use of GIS software and GPS equipment as directed.
• Responsible for accurate collection of field data.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of GIS as it relates to Local Government, Public Works, and Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of developing automation within the ArcGIS environment using scripting languages such as Python
• Ability to communicate and promote geospatial solutions amongst others
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D CAD software
• Knowledge of mapping-grade GPS devices
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents
