POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Behrend invites applications for the position of Head Coach (DIII) for the Water Polo Team. The Head Coach for Water Polo is responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of the University's Water Polo program. The position supports and advances the mission and core values of the Athletic Department and the University while fostering a positive and competitive student-athlete experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Head Coach will manage all aspects of the Water Polo program, including but not limited to:

  • Recruiting, evaluating, and retaining top prospective student-athletes who align with the academic and athletic standards of the University

  • Developing and maintaining a competitive schedule

  • Planning and organizing practices, including skill development and team training

  • Designing and implementing strategies that prepare the team for successful competition

  • Mentoring and supporting the academic, personal, and athletic development of student-athletes

  • Managing the program budget and related administrative responsibilities

  • Organizing sport camps and assisting with fundraising initiatives

  • Overseeing booster club engagement and supporting athletic development activities

  • Collaborating with various athletic department and university offices to support student-athlete success and program operations

  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Athletic Department

COMPLIANCE AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

  • The Head Coach must maintain full compliance with all University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

  • Promote and uphold the strategic goals, policies, and core values of the athletics department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one year of prior coaching, playing, or relevant experience in Water Polo

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

  • Commitment to student-athlete development and ethical conduct.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Collegiate coaching or recruiting experience.

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree Differs per sport Required Certifications: None
