Job Type: Support Staff - Non-Union Bargaining Unit: Regular/Temporary: Regular End Date if Temporary: Hours Per Week: 40 Standard Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm Building: Salary Range: $28.70 - $28.70 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Reporting to the Resident Manager, the Houseworker will be responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping duties in the building. Responsibilities Delivers linen, blankets, pillows, and in-room amenities to guest rooms Washes linen, prepares guest beds, and properly arranges amenities Retrieves used linens from guest rooms Freshens bathroom areas and removes garbage Launders, counts, and sorts linen Organizes and cleans linen rooms and work areas Operates linen exchange tables and prepares room status reports Performs other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Highschool Diploma or equivalent required Flexible work schedule with weekend, late night, and early morning required Must be able to perform tasks independently with great attention to detail Must have ability to provide excellent hospitality services and ability to communicate pleasantly with staff and visitors Must have ability to work with a diverse group of people is required Some heavy lifting may be required Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Veteran Columbia University is committed to the hiring of qualified local residents.
