The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, talented, and experienced technician who can perform and teach in vitro assays as well as perform animal work. The Technician A will assist with lab organization, immunological assays, and the supervision of animal care and surgeries. We collaborate closely with renowned scientists and physicians across multiple departments at CUIMC, spanning research in cancer, cancer therapy, immunology, autoimmunity, transplantation, inflammation, infectious diseases, and related areas.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:



  • Operation and maintenance of the research laboratory.
  • Prepare samples and reagents.
  • Assist in immunological assay development and optimization.
  • Assist with animal care and surgical procedures with supervised assistance.
  • Perform and teach in vitro assays and assist with animal work.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications




  • Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology, or physics, or a completed animal husbandry program.


  • One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training, and experience.


  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience in lab research, especially working with immunological assays such as ELISA, PCR, MLR, and flow cytometry, or cell culture assays.
  • An interest in medicine (e.g., pre-med applicants) is helpful, as our work is closely related to clinical medicine.


Other Requirements




  • The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.


  • Medical clearance and participation in the medical surveillance program are required:



    • Work involves laboratory animals


    • Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure




  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
